EXPLORE THE INSIGHTGT E-LINE CAMERA

Features
  • Best-in-class resolution and frame rate
  • Designed-for-purpose illumination
  • Storage of pristine high-bandwidth video in the tool simultaneous with lower bandwidth streaming of images and video clips to the surface
  • Variable transmission bandwidth copes with exceedingly long lines or noisy environments
  • Novel heat storage mechanism that allows for extended runtime without resorting to an unmanageable tool size
Applications
  • Mechanical inspections such as parted tubing, corrosion, obstructions, or restrictions
  • Fishing operations
  • Survey of scale and buildup
  • Determination of water intrusion
Benefits
  • Built to address the challenges of geothermal operations
  • Deployable on most single and multi-conductor electric lines
  • Can significantly reduce operator intervention costs

KEEP YOUR COOL, EVEN WHEN THINGS GET HOT

The InsightGT HD Electric Line Camera was designed with geothermal in mind.  InsightGT pairs the image acquisition and telemetry electronics of Insight3 with a downward-looking imager, and repackages them in a purpose-built flasked housing. It differs from other high-temp camera offerings in that it:

  • Uses current-generation electronics capable of capturing full frame rate HD video
  • Offers a wide field of view
  • Has proper lighting for large (24″) geothermal bores
  • Can operate at 200 ºC for a full 4 hours

InsightGT is able to operate from the vast majority of electric line cable, including high-temp variants.  If the tool is frequently to be used on multi-conductor, a multi-channel telemetry package is available.

Imagery and telemetry data from the tool are transmitted to the top-side receiver in real time.  This data is viewed and stored via a laptop computer, and may be saved to removable media and/or electronically sent from location.  A freely-distributable viewer allows all stakeholders the opportunity to easily browse and interpret well data.

Given geothermal’s smaller market size, these cameras are usually built on a bespoke basis.  As such, customizations such as tailoring the tool to meet a specific run time / dwell time target or adding precision temperature or pressure sensors go with the territory.

A customized version of InsightGT tailored to the special requirements of inspecting leachate bores in landfills is also available. Here, special consideration is given to housing materials and centralizer design to avoid damaging PVC casings.
